Matterhorn-Gotthard Railway ABDeh 4/10 and ABDeh 4/8 “Komet”

The “Komet” is a three- or four-car multiple unit for rack and adhesion service derived from the BDseh 4/8. Its name stands for “komfortabler Meterspur-Triebzug” (comfortable metre-gauge multiple unit). Each unit has a central panoramic four-axle power car with traction equipment below the floor. At each end there is a low-floor control car with a single bogie and in the four-car variant, there is an additional low-floor trailer behind one driving trailer. In total, four four-car and eight three-car units were built. They can be operated in multiple with the BDseh 4/8 and different additional control cars.
