The type G 4I was a 0-8-0 freight locomotive built by Krauss of Munich for the Palatinate Railway. Two batches of 15 and twelve had been delivered in 1898 and 1899. They were two-cylinder simples with cylinders of 630 by 530 mm, so the stroke was smaller than the diameter. After World War I, twelve locomotives came to the Saar region. The rest was taken over by the Reichsbahn in the twenties and numbered 55 7201 to 55 7215. There they were only used for another few years.
