Norway 2002 36 produced
The type 72 is an electric multiple unit for use on suburban and commuter services. Each set consists of four cars which are connected by Jacobs bogies. Only the bogies on both ends are powered on both axles. Between 2002 and 2006, 36 were built by AnsaldoBreda in Italy and the outside design came from Pininfarina. After some teething problems, they are successfully being used around Oslo and on the Jærbane between Stavanger and Egersund. In 2019, Go-Ahead Norge leased eleven from the NSB.
