Belgian Railway AM 96

The AM 96, also called MS 96 in Dutch-speaking regions, is a three-car electric multiple unit built between 1996 and 1999. It is based on the Danish MF and has the same rubber noses with fold-away control desks. So it is being nicknamed “Wc-bril” (toilet seat), but also “Deense Neus” (Danish Nose). 50 sets are equipped for both 3 kV DC and 25 kV AC, while the rest can only operate under 3 kV DC. Of the latter, the first 47 have GTO traction converters, while the other 23 have IGBT converters. 

Most are being used on lines in Belgium, but there are also international connections to Lille and Luxembourg. On the line between Liège and Maastricht, they have to use the Dutch 1.5 kV system for a short stretch. Since they don't have the proper equipment for this system, they can only run on a quarter of their maximum power.
