The numbers 84 to 86 of the LAG were 0-8-2T tank locomotives which were based on the Reichsbahn class 9810, also called GtL 4/5. The most notable difference were the drivers with a diameter of 1,100 instead of 1,006 mm which allowed a top speed of 60 instead of 45 km/h.
Numbers 84 and 85 were delivered by Krauss-Maffei in 1935 and stationed at Oberstdorf. The third one followed in 1936 and was stationed at Füssen. As early as 1938, the LAG was nationalized and the three locomotives became class 9817. After the war, they stayed in the same area and were used by the Bundesbahn until 1961.
