For use with light passenger trains, the Paris-Lyon got three 2-2-0T tank locomotives in 1856 which had been built by Cavé. They were sometimes also called “Baby Cramptons”, since the driving axle with 1,680 mm wheels was mounted behind the firebox. The outside cylinders were mounted behind the single carrying axle. Only one year after their delivery, the PL merged with the Lyon-Méditerranée (LM) to form the PLM. Originally numbered 198 to 200, they were renumbered 43 to 45 in 1873. Their withdrawals came in 1875.
