The 2ЭС6 (2ES6) is a two-section freight locomotive for use on the 3 kV DC network. It was designed by the Sinara group, but is being built by the Ural Locomotive Works. Each section has an hourly output of 3,220 kW and optionally, each two-section locomotive can be extended with an additional central section that only has auxiliary cabs. By 2024, a total of 1,340 two-section sets and 163 three-section sets had been built. Theoretically, also four-section sets could be created. A derivative with three-phase AC traction motors is the 2ЭС8/3ЭС8, but so far only five prototypes have been built.
