In 2016, Siemens presented the Mireo as the successor to the Desiro MainLine. The sets are available with two to seven cars, with the individual cars resting together on Jakobs bogies. The number of powered bogies is variable and enables a maximum speed of 140 or 160 km/h. Based on the same principle as the Smartron, a pre-configured, three-car “Mireo Smart” is available. Around 190 Mireo had been delivered by early 2023, of which more than 100 went to DB Regio. The Mireo Plus B with battery drive and the Mireo Plus H with hydrogen drive are being developed with alternative drive forms. So far there is only a short text for this vehicle. In the future it will be described in more detail.
