Due to dwindling traffic volumes, the Elmshorn-Barmstedt-Oldesloe Railway got three rail buses in 1933, 1934 and 1936 which had been built by the Gotha wagon works. Although T1 was a shorter than T2 and T3, all had a wheelbase of 5,500 mm with steerable axles. Power came from a four-cylinder Daimler-Benz OM 65 diesel with either 65 or 70 hp that was connected to one axle via a Mylius gearbox.
In the time before World War II, the EBOE could handle almost all its traffic with these three rail buses, but during the war, they again had to use steam-hauled trains. After the war, they were designated VT 21 to 23. Their withdrawals came in 1961, 1966 and 1968.
