Queensland Rail ordered cape gauge freight locomotives of the type GT42CU AC still from Clyde Engineering, which were equipped with licensed technology from EMD. They were finally delivered after the takeover from EDi Rail and were the first QR locomotives with three-phase traction motors. Both are designated class 4000 and 4100 by QR and their successors. From 2007 the GT42CU ACe followed with modernized electronics. Pacific National also ordered larger numbers of both models. So far there is only a short text for this vehicle. In the future it will be described in more detail.
